ANNOUNCING THE 2026 PRAIRIE SHOWCASE TOURNAMENT!
We are pleased to announce the 2026 Prairie Showcase Tournament!
Open to all DL and Premier teams for the 2026 Single Season in the U11-U17 categories, as well as U8-U10 Grassroots and all U11-U18 2026/27 Indoor Recreational teams!
This tournament taking place on October 21st-25th, 2026, with full field games being played at U of W Axworthy Health & RecPlex and other matches being played at the Seven Oaks Soccer Complex, WSF North, and WSF South.
Team Registration
Registration for all teams will open on Tuesday, September 8th, 2026 beginning at 12:00PM (CST). Registration will occur on the WYSA Website. Please note that all out-of-province teams would not be scheduled to play their first match until Friday, October 23rd at 6:00PM (CST) the earliest.
- As with all our tournaments, teams will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
- Divisions will be capped at 8, with teams outside of the 8 being placed on a waitlist through our RAMP system.
- If the number of teams on the waitlist for a division reach a certain threshold, we will explore the opportunity to create new divisions based on field availability.
- Teams on the waitlist WILL NOT BE CHARGED the registration fee until they are confirmed.
Team Registration Fees
- ¼ Field Teams: $700
- ½ Field Teams: $900
- Full Field Teams: $1250 (Full Field Matches located at U of W & possibly WSF North & South)
Age Divisions
As Manitoba differs from several provinces/states in our age classes, please double check that the team you registered is in the correct division based on the birth years of the players:
- U8 Groups - Born on or after January 1, 2026
- U9 Groups - Born on or after January 1, 2026
- U10 Groups - Born on or after January 1, 2016
- U11 Teams - Born on or after January 1, 2015
- U12 Teams - Born on or after January 1, 2014
- U13 Teams - Born on or after January 1, 2013
- U14 Teams - Born on or after January 1, 2012
- U15 Teams - Born on or after January 1, 2011
- U16 Teams - Born on or after January 1, 2010
- U17 Teams - Born on or after January 1, 2009
- U18 Teams - Born on or after January 1, 2008
Please ensure you are registering in the correct division based on your player's birth year! We will be offering Premier (U13 to U17 Competitive), Developmental (U11 to U12 Competitive), Grassroots (U8-U10), & Recreational (U11 to U18), so there is competition for all teams!!
Competitive Format
The 2026 WYSA Prairie Showcase will be Canada Soccer and Manitoba Soccer compliant with respect to LTPD competition, guidelines, and standards. All teams registered in U10-U12 divisions will participate in a festival-style tournament, which means they will not be competing for a trophy or medals. This standard has been designed to create the best possible learning and development environment for all players, which is based on global best practice while considering the realities of Canadian Soccer and truly focusing on Long Term Player Development!
- U8-10 Grassroots - Festival-style tournament on a quarter-sized field with 4-matches guaranteed
- U11-U12 Recreational - Festival-style tournament on a quarter-sized field with 4-matches guaranteed
- U11-U12 Developmental - Festival-style tournament on a half-sized field with 4-matches guaranteed
- U13-U18 Recreational - Standings based tournament on a quarter-sized field with 3-matches guaranteed
- U13 Premier - Standings based tournament on a half-sized field with 3-matches guaranteed
- U14-U17 Premier - Standings based tournament on a full-sized field with 3-matches guaranteed
Team Rosters
Team rosters that have been approved by the governing body for soccer in your province must be submitted prior to the tournament. WYSA-League teams are not required to submit their rosters as they have already been approved for league play. **If your team is participating in the 2026 WYSA Single Season, then that will be the roster used for the event. If your team is participating in the 2026/27 WYSA Indoor Recreational Season and already has a team formed in time for this tournament, then that will be the roster used for the event. Please note that Guest Player Forms must be submitted by October 14th, 2026, one week prior to the tournament kickoff!
Multiple Teams with the Same Coach
If you are a club/organization that is sending multiple teams, you may have a coach who is coaching multiple teams. If that is the case, please notify us about that as soon as possible so we can try and create a schedule that accommodates these various coaching duties. It should be noted that we will do everything in our power to try and accommodate your request, but it is not guaranteed.
Refunds
Refunds will only be considered based on the timing of the team removing themselves from the tournament and the impact it has on the division. All decisions based on refunds will be under the auspice of the WYSA Executive Director in consultation with the tournament committee.
