2014 Outdoor Soccer Season (Updated April 17)

The 2014 Outdoor soccer season is on schedule to start the following dates, for the following programs, in which WYSA administers:

U13 - U18 Recreational - April 25, 2014

Recreational teams will generally play two (2) games per week during May & June with playoffs scheduled for September (No July/August play) for all U12-U18 divisions. U9-U11 will play May/June and wrap up the season in early July.

APRIL 17 UPDATE: U13-U18 Recreational matches April 25 - May 11 at the Waverley Soccer Complex (WSC) have been uploaded into your team areas! Due to limited availability at the WSC, not all teams will play between April 25 - May 11, but we have been able to schedule 95% of all recreational teams at least one match at the WSC before the season wraps up in June. We anticipate the rest of the season schedule being available online on May 3 with matches on natural grass beginning May 12. Any further updates will be posted here.

Odd divisions (U13-U15-U17) will generally play on Tuesdays, Thursdays and/or Sundays depending on the number of teams in a division, field and referee availability.

Even divisions (U14-U16-U18) will generally play on Mondays, Wednesdays and/or Fridays depending on the number of teams in a division, field and referee availability.

For U9 - U12 Recreational programs, please contact your local District Club for exact start dates and nights of play.

U13 - U18 Premier 1 & 2 - May 9, 2014

Premier 1 and 2 teams will generally play one (1) game per week from May through to the end of August with a planned break from July 11 August 4, 2014. The City Playoffs will begin after the Labour Day long weekend and continue through to the final game in late September or early October. While we will strive to have teams play on a consistent night, due to referee/field availability, team travel, pooled teams and out of town teams, creating a consistent night of play is extremely challenging.

U9 - U12 Developmental League - May 12, 2014

Developmental teams will generally play one (1) game a week from May through to the end of August with a planned break from July 11 August 4, 2014.

U9/U11 teams will generally play Monday, Wednesday or Friday matches.

U10/U12 teams will generally play Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday matches.

Schedules for each program in which WYSA administers, will be made available online approximately 7 days prior to your season kick-off. Notice will be posted here on the WYSA website homepage once the schedules are uploaded into your team area!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you please explain to me why there needs to be a same-gender team official on the bench of my child?

The reason there needs to be a same gender team official on the bench is for safety and security. All teams must have at least one adult of the same gender as the players, as one of the team officials in attendance. This person, must be on the team bench and identified on all game sheets, and must not be a registered player on the team. Teams not having an adult of the same gender, will result in the game being cancelled and points defaulted (grace time will apply as with the players). The same gender team official is not required to have an identification card.
