Golden Boy International Indoor Tournament 2012 - Schedules

Golden Boy International INDOOR RESULTS 2012

This past weekend One Hundred and Sixty Four teams participated in the 5 day event making it the largest Indoor Golden Boy Tournament to date. 

Between players, team officials, spectators, referees, time keepers and volunteers that is well over 4,000 people who participated in the weekend's event! 

 

Out of towns teams included:

 

Minnedosa 2 teams

Brandon 4 teams

TRI-S (Selkirk) 5 teams

TRI-CITY North Dakota 7 teams

Thunderbay 20 teams

 

Additionally several of the out of town teams advanced to the finals.

 

Many Winnipeg teams indicated that they were very pleased to have the opportunity to play several out of town teams.

 

The referees and time keepers stepped up and did an excellent job for the event

Volunteers and staff have to be recognized as well for their efforts in making the event the success that it was.

The tournament begins on February 16, 2012 for City teams and travelling teams start either on Friday February 17, 2012 or Saturday February 18, 2012.

WYSA teams may use the regular game sheet from league play.

Additional game sheets will be available at the facilities.

Out of Town teams may pick up game sheets from the Winnipeg Soccer Federation Facility.  Please come to the meeting room and staff will assist you.

 

All teams be sure that the WYSA office has a contact number that will available during the weekend in the event that tournament staff need to contact you.

 

LEAVE the white copy of the game sheet with the game officials at the facility.  Event staff will collect the scores and confirm any placements as you advance through play.

 

In the event that you need to contact the event staff during the weekend either call and leave a message at 204-233-8899 or email wysa@winnipegyouthsoccer.com during the weekend.

 

Staff will check the phone and email throughout the weekend.

Golden Boy International Indoor Tournament 2012

UPDATE - Thank you for the outstanding response to the 2012 Golden Boy Tournament, we have surpassed last year's record and we are now full!

The Golden Boy Tournament Schedule will be e-mailed out to the contact name on the registration form and posted on the WYSA website on Friday, February 10th.

Outdoor 2012 Season information

All players must register at their home community club or home district club as outlined in the WYSA rules and regulations Article 2.5 regardless of where they played for the last Soccer Season.

Player Assessments will be taking place for prospective developmental U9-U12 players and prospective Premier and Premier-Developmental players U13 and older February 11-15, 2012.  Contact your Home District Club for the schedule and registration information.

Age of play is determined by the player birth year.

Recreational play will begin the weekend of April 28, 2012 and run to the last week of June. Playoffs will resume in September after the long weekend. Recreational FINALS will be held on September 29 at the John Blumberg complex.

Developmental, Premier-Developmental and Premier play will begin the weekend of April 27, 2012. These divisions will play to the summer break up to and including July 8, 2012.

Premier and Premier-Developmental Teams will resume their season on August 07, 2011. Premier and Premier-Developmental teams will play into September with the FINALS scheduled for the weekend of September 22 and 23 at the Waverley Complex.

U9-U12 Developmental teams will resume play on August 07, 2012. U10-U12 Developmental teams will play into September with FINALS to be held on September 29 at the John Blumberg complex.

Nights of Play

RECREATIONAL
ODD divisions (U9-U11-U13-U15-U17) will GENERALLY play on Tuesdays, Thursdays and or Sundays depending on the number of teams in a divisions, field and referee availability.

EVEN divisions (U10-U12-U14-U16-U18) will GENERALLY play on Mondays, Wednesdays and or Fridays depending on the number of teams in a division, field and referee availability.

DEVELOPMENTAL teams will generally play ONE game a week

U9 teams will generally play Monday, Wednesday or Friday Matches.

U10 teams will generally play Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday Matches
U11 teams will generally play Monday, Wednesday or Friday Matches
U12 teams will generally play Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday Matches

Team Officials

All team officials must meet the screening requirements for the Police check including the Vulnerable sector search and a Child Abuse Registry check to be eligible to be assigned to a roster. Additionally all team officials are required to complete the on line Respect in Sport program through this link www.sportmanitoba.ca/respectinsport.php Once completed, a certificate number is provided on line.

U13-18 Recreational TEAMS and U10-12 Developmental TEAMS
Teams have the option to self score. Click on the log in instructions on the side menu.

GAME COPY - the white copy is to be submitted to the WYSA office by the Winning team. in the event of a tie, the HOME team is responsible to submit the game sheet.

Game sheets can be mailed to the WYSA offfice or dropped off to the main floor security desk which is open 24 hours.

PREMIER and Premier-developmental TEAMS
Teams have the option to self score. Click on the log in instructions on the side menu.

The referee is responsible to submit the White copy of the GAME SHEET.

Game Cancellations
WYSA is responsible for game cancellations for U13 and up Recreational , U9-U12 Developmental and Premier and Premier-Developmental leagues.

In the event of an INDIVIDUAL game cancellation EMAIL notification will be sent to the affected teams.

In the event of a LEAGUE cancellation, the notice will be posted on the GAME CANCELLATION LINE at 204-233-9100 and on the WYSA Website HOME page www.winnipegyouthsoccer.com, WYSA will also notify CJOB for the sports cancellations at 4:25 and 5:25 PM.

IF NO NOTICE is posted either on the website or phone line, please attend to your game as scheduled. In the event that the field and or weather conditions are unplayable, the referee has the authority to cancel a game at the field.
